Kawaii Thoughts

The year was 2009. Printed hair extensions were all the rage..ish.  It was the pinnacle of my scene queen days. My music of choice,  because it freaked people out, was a super out there album "it's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world" by a band called Blood on the Dance Floor. ..and not, Dolly Parton (who first used the title). At the time, BOTDF had 3 members I guess that first album release must have been the last time I had thought about them.  Later they released another album, and members started to come and go.  Before rediscovering them, BOTDF went through members Garrett Ecstasy, Jayy Vonn (who previously found me on Insta thought I admit I had no idea who he was at the time), and Matty M.  About a month ago,  I was sort of reintroduced to them when Dahvie Vanity,  the lead singer (@officialBOTDF)  had found me on Instagram.  It kinda made my day once I realized it was legit and not a fan account,  like it usually is... I'm looking at you

Arctic Fox Hair Color...FINALLY! (+Updates)

So, first of all...being the only one in your house working night shift at any given time is a very lonely existence...like even on my days off..I stay up as long as I can to hang out with my family...and then I go to take a "nap" at like 4..hoping to wake up at 7.  Nope, I woke up at 1am and watched the movie "Storks".... with my cat. Anyway, this is something that I've been wanting to do for about a year.  You all know how much I love colored hair.  For the past ten years, I had only been exposed to the brand Splat.  As a kid I had seen Manic Panic at Hot Topic but hadn't heard great things about it. While working as a CSR last year, I met a girl who always had the most vibrant hair so I finally had to ask her secret:  ARCTIC FOX!    Long-Lasting Semi-Permanent Color 15% Donated to Stop Animal Cruelty 100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free Non-GMO Plant Based Protein Added Conditioner Made In the USA I ordered my 8oz AF hair color bottle on t

So Very Thankful

I hope you guys didn't mind my Halloween Story Time too much, I have another one for you this Thanksgiving that has been on my mind.  If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I've dubbed this week a Kindergoth Radio Silence, just taking a few mental health days. But, I wanted to explain why. My small army, standing on the side of a mountain after seeing all the damage caused by last year's wildfires. Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  September 2017.  Our custom t-shirts have been courtesy of  Ink Pixi for the last several years!  A year ago last week I was a perfectly unhappy misanthrope.  Then, November 20th, 2016 rolled around.  My mom wasn't feeling well, and went to the ER. We f igured they'd tell her it was a stomach bug and send her home so she'd feel better in time for Thanksgiving.  I went to work. I later get a text from my dad that they were sending her to a hospital an hour or so away for more tests.  Super normal. At this point,

You're Just A Dog - A look at Demi the Daredevil's "Sly Dog"

Image
Source: Demithedaredevil.com So this is something a bit different for you guys, a single track breakdown the week of its release “Sly Dog” is the brand new single from Austin, TX Art Pop band, Demi the Daredevil.   The specific genre “Art Pop” may throw some of you for a loop -- I know it did to me for a second. But, g enres are like colors...while casual listeners, or aliens who dislike music , may identify simply rock, rap, and metal (if that much).  Enthusiasts see industrial, Bauhaus, Trash Pop, and that one brief moment Ronnie Radke was the lead singer of Escape the Fate...but, I digress. An earlier version of Sly Dog was sent to me by its singer, Jeff Azar, ahead of its November 14th release date.  Naturally, I listened to it--a lot, as well as most of their recent tracks (which you can find on both Youtube & Spotify) This track definitely brings out a sense of adventure, a bit of Bohemian Rhapsody.  I love it, as well as the bit of inner monologue/ arguing

Last thoughts on Social....fucking everything up.

Alright, kindergothlings...for the foreseeable future, barring any new developments, this is the last that I'm going to say about the breakup and drama from my former favorite YouTube couple: Jaclyn Glen and Richie Giese aka Social Repose. All this has done for me is caused me to  lose a lot of respect for Richie ,  and have some of my old wounds from loser exs reopened. First of all,  if you don't know..Richie cheated i don't know how much or with who, but unlike with our "president," u don't have to "wait and see" before I deem it unacceptable l.  I'm still working through the moral dilemma if wanting to enjoy his music. Why can't I detach like a normal human? Now,  I got to meet him back at the Rocketown at the end of October. I wish I had gotten to meet her as well,  but it was still one of the best nights. He was super sweet and appreciative l,  despite all of the problems he had been having on the tour,  with the power goin

Reflecting on A Dream

A little backstory on this one...when I was 16, a classmate of mine that had been battling cancer for quite some time passed away.  We were acquaintances, never really talked at all, just had been classmates for at least 4 years.  Anyway, and I should preface this by the fact that I’ve always had this fear of cancer.  If I was ever sick or saw a spot, that’s what my mind would go to,  I guess it was trying to prepare me for my current reality  in which my mother has been battling stage 4 cancer for a year. Just a month or two shy of the 1 year anniversary of his death, on “4/20,” to be exact, I had the weirdest dream that I was in this glass elevator with him, and he was trying so desperately to tell me something important.  Of course, you can’t predict the future in dreams, so the paper that he showed me was just fuzzy, fuzzy writing.  I jolted awake, confused and with the tightest of knots in my stomach.  I then wrote this:   A sobering experience but was it even real?

Why I Left Buzzfeed...

Image
If you haven't been under an internet rock, chances are: you've seen something from Buzzfeed :  Tasty, Nifty, etc.  Buzzfeed is the monopoly of the Youtubes, and well, the internet in general.   I can no longer scroll through Facebook without seeing things like "Pick 3 pieces of fruit and we'll tell you which Disney princess you'd be most likely to sacrifice during a full moon." I used to LOVE being a part of the Buzzfeed community! (before most of my favorite creators left) Honestly! I loved it during the early days of "Ladylike" and "The Try Guys," (before they had their own Youtube RED series BS) After about two years, Safiya Nygaard, the co-creator of "LadyLike" left Buzzfeed to pursue creating her own fabulous content without restrictions.  Another one of my favorites who chose to break away from Buzzfeed is Chris Reinacher.  During and after his "Why I left Buzzfeed" video, he seemed to absolutely

First Impressions of 'Heaven Upside Down'

Image
Good morning, Kindergothlings!  It's about 7:15...I've been up since 2:30 this morning...Working third shift sucks because even on your days off, you feel like you miss everything.  Anyway, got some cool stuff for you today..jumping back into some music.  It's been a couple years since Manson's last album, and even longer since I've been a faithful listener.  I really thought he might have lost his touch when he started acting.  I watched him in the last season of Sons of Anarchy, and I know that he had some sort of role in the series "Salem," which he did the score for. "Heaven Upside Down"   definitely proved me wrong.  After 2 singles came out in September, the album had a full release on October 6th, 2017. So, yeah, I'm nearly a month late with this (big whoop, wanna fighta bout it?)  I hadn't thought about it in weeks, but when it popped into my head, I finally HAD to pull it up and listen to it.  I've given the wh

Goth Royalty Handbags

Image
Short post for today, Kindergothlings.  So, I mentioned back in October (right after Falling in Reverse, I believe) that I had spent, by my standards, a a crazy amount of money. I purchased a handbag...but not just any bag... One dipped in full Goth royalty, of course.  The bag/clutch is inspired by Queen of the Bats, "Black Friday" and designed by the super talented Australian musician/designer, Avelina De Moray. I got an email from Avelina at 3 o' clock this morning, while I was on my lunch break...crazy Australian time zones. The e-mail stated that my LayBuy (Paypal Powered payment plan) was completed and my bag was totally paid off. Yay!  The bags run 135AUD, which I believe is $109 USD + shipping of $27 or so. The bags will get to her in about 3 weeks. So, around Thanksgiving here in the US.  At that point, she will start shipping them out.  I'm expecting it to arrive closer to Christmas, because she also has the Drac Makens handbags to ship out
