Louder Than Life Details feat. Black Veil Brides Tour Updates!

Image
Ozzy, Rob Zombie, and Five Finger Death Punch in one show...sounds like a dream, right?  Well for those that are going to be in the area, Louder Than Life festival is going to blow your freakin' mind.   Champions Park, Louisville, Kentucky.  Imma be a square an follow all the action on Instagram  It's super last minute, but miraculously, tickets are still available online AND at the doors. Take a look at this killer line up, if we weren't already going to Falling in Reverse & All That Remains, I'd REALLY be bummed about missing this show. Saturday, Sept. 30th sees some of the biggest names in metal:  Ozzy (w/ Zakk Wylde), Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch.   Hollywood Undead also plays on Saturday, and those would be the only ones I'd be interested in.  Other bands playing on Saturday: Mastodon, Halestorm, Gojira Eagles of Death Metal Of Mice & Men, Sleeping With Sirens Steel Panther Starset, Miss May I While She Sleeps, Fire

Our Ship is Leaving the Harbor

My ship has been safe in its harbor for far too long, I long to venture out. My resolution, that for once in my life I am sticking to, is to just: Do. Miss Motionless , circa 2011 Pigeon Forge, TN  rocking a Manson/Twiggy Ramirez T-shirt  Screw losing weight, or trying to become a better person. Why look good and act right for other people if I, myself, am unhappy? October is probably my most booked month of the year as far as taking "me" days and making it clear that family and friend outings at this time are more important to me. Especially getting to go and do as much as we can with our mother while she is feeling well, going into this second round of chemotherapy. So yeah, we're very over due for a runaway weekend. Thankfully, the stars have aligned to make all that possible for our small army of 6. The "Kinder Crew" is delighted to be getting out of this frustrating town. We'll be out & about in both Gatlinburg & Pigeon For

One of the worst jump-scares of the movie for me [Disclaimer:] Forgive the oft stream-of-consciousness style writing.  There are a few narrative hoops to jump through, but once I get into the film, there will be some spoilers from "It" the book, movie, and 1990 miniseries so, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I went and saw "It" on opening night (09.08.2017), with my family (So, a small army of 6).    We only go Cinema 33 in Hartford, because Regal Cinemas has gotten so insanely expensive.  I highly recommend you give them a shot, if you're in the area.  Its a 2-screen theater, that's been around for decades.  Though, I'm a woman of science, so just for "fun," I did the math. 6 adults at a Great Escape theater would have been $79 instead of the $36 we paid.  Anyway, I digress, we got there over an hour before the show started and there was  a line out the door before tickets even went on sale!  The movie itself:  I'm a h

Basic Bitch Goths?

Image
So, I work a third shift job where I have a mundane black & blue uniform.  I’d be much, much happier in normal clothes but, meh.  I still wear my hair, makeup and accessories as normal which means excessive eyeliner, bracelets, and “Halloween” aka now everyday pins, buttons, etc.   Lately, I’ve been getting some funny looks with my black coffin nails clutching a pumpkin spice latte at 4am like it’s literally “my precious” ...I need my caffeine, and what better way to get it.   Honestly, when I saw the PSL bottles come out, I bought four (4!).   Anyway, it’s not that I’m not used to getting weird looks but, shit, get a life. You can be Goth and still a basic bitch...right? Which brings me to another point brought about by “Goths like Starbucks?” and hundreds of Google searches along the lines of “Am I still Goth if I….,”  “Can I still ______ if I want to be Goth?”   Um, duh! While there is a stereotypical portrayal of the Goth subculture, it’s still just one s

BVB Review: Set the World on Fire, 2011

Image
Set the World on Fire is the 2nd studio album from Black Veil Brides, and the first album with “CC” (Christian Coma) on Drums.  The album was released on June 14, 2011.  The first single released off the album was “Fallen Angels,”  very much an ode to the classic glam rock of KISS and Motley Crue. A few of my other favorites include “God Bless You” and “Rebel Love Song,” Which one AP’s music video of the year in 2011! Rebel Love Song, the anthem of a small town kid, dreaming of getting out.  Hitting home with me right now as I set my sights on Las Vegas. Another unexpected favorite for me is “Savior” I originally skipped over the song because it is a slower one. There are few words that I can muster to describe this song, except “everything I wish someone had told me at 14.” Jinxx has a violin solo near the end of the song, which is a beautiful addition. Honestly, so without too much commentary, I’m going to share the lyrics for you guys, as well as link to the song he

“Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones” Album Review

Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones Get your copy of the Ultimate Edition here ! Say what you want about this album, but as far as Black Veil Brides goes, it is one of my favorites.  This is their third studio album, which was released on January 8th, 2013.  Now, many of you may not know this, but the 19 track album is but a third of the “Wretched and Divine” experience.   On December 21, 2012 “Legion of the Black” was released, which is the album's theatrical accompaniment.  The 45 minute film combines the album’s tracks with “The Story of the Wild Ones.” The “Ultimate Edition” of the album also includes 3 unreleased titles, and a second disc of bonus content.    Now, back to the album itself.  The composition is so fantastic that, even without seeing the film, you visualize the story.  Which is a high honor, I’ve only bestowed to one other album: (and don’t judge me for this) Green Day’s American Idiot. Parts of this album are truly an “anthe
