Hey there guys! Hope all is well on this freezing morning -_- Have I mentioned that I hate Winter...because I REALLY hate Winter! The Kindergoth Krew is all scattered out today and back to work. I have one more night to go this week, and it's about to kill me. I've got a lovely sore throat. ughh.
Holliday Grainger |
In honor of my mom's birthday being yesterday. \\HAPPY BIRTHDAY!// I'm going to do a small piece on something that she's into. Honestly, if she isn't watching "Chopped," she's watching some murder documentary on Investigation Discovery: Deadly Women, Wives with Knives...that kinda thing. So, we're going to talk about one of my favorite *deadly women* Bonnie Elizabeth Parker of the infamous "Bonnie and Clyde."
I first became fascinated with Bonnie and Clyde around the release of the TV movie in 2013 I believe it was. My ex and I watched it a ton when it first aired, and then got it on DVD as well. I loved Holliday Grainger's portrayal of Bonnie and thought the story as a whole was interesting.
The Real Bonnie Parker |
Now, I guess the scariest part to the truth is that Bonnie could have been any one of us: small town aspiring actress, poet and hopeless romantic. She was married before her 16th birthday to an abusive man, and happened upon the rebellious boy that sparked her heart a while later. She ran away with Clyde Barrow, and her love for him clouded even the most mundane decisions. They quickly set off on a crime spree which lasted two short years. They were met with a violent end in may of 1934 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. To this day, festivals and re-enactments are held at the spot where the duo was gunned down. Most of the time, there is a historical marker, though it has been defaced, stolen, and replaced many times over the years.
After being so inspired by the 2013 film, I actually used it to do my final project for one of my college classes. So instead of me droning on, take a look at this short animation that gives a bit more of the story:

Hope you all learned something new, or enjoyed today. We get to take a look at another one of my favorite psychopaths next week, so stay tuned. As always, if you've made it this far thank you so much for supporting this dark little dream of mine.
