Would I Have Joined the Manson Family?
Good Morning, Dolls! Actually in a pretty decent mood, guess I'm just glad that it's almost my weekend. I want to start this week off by wishing a very Happy Birthday to my Dad. I know, lots of December birthdays! He is the one that really introduced my sister and I to metal back in 2005/2006 with the "Headbanger's Ball" CDs....and the rest is history xD
As I've definitely mentioned before, my childhood wasn't exactly normal...
So, there was this girl. A friend of my sisters, and one of the first acquaintances I had in life. For the purposes of the blog, let's call her Leo.
Leo was my very first exposure to the world of Goth. I thought she was so cool, she always wore these long black trench coats. She would drink her own blood... That part kinda wigged me out. But the one thing that I always was fascinated with was her pen pal..none other than Charlie Manson.

Now, to the rest of the world he was seen as a psychopath, but I have been absolutely fascinated with him my entire life.
From, I suppose, Junior High on, every feature I had to do as an assignment, I used Charlie, always managing to find a new source I hadn't seen before.
This was another topic Baelfire and I bonded over.
The final project I did over Manson was a newspaper type spread for my college Sociology class. Outside of the traditional essay form, I was able to go in depth with extra bits of information about him time spent with the Beach Boys, etc. I wish that I still had access to this file, it was a cool experience, and definitely got a 100%!
As you probably know, Charlie Manson died a month ago at the age of 83 during his sentence at Corcoran State Prison.
If I had been alive in the sixties, I'm sure I would have been a follower of Manson, because I totally get the free love...and he was too damn charming. I don't know why I've always been so drawn to him. I'm sure I've watched hours of footage, as well as some of the Netflix documentaries and depictions such as "Manson Family Vacation" and something or other on the missing Manson girls.
I don't advocate murder, obviously, not that I haven't thought about offing a few deserving individuals. But, at the same time, I don't think Manson was guilty of murder. Sure, direction, but he, with the exception of tying up the LaBiancas and possibly doing the writings in blood, never touched a victim.
Now, the Sharon Tate house, that was at 10050 Cielo Drive, I believe is now long gone, but the LaBianca house still stands.
I considered getting a small tattoo to commemorate his death. A local tattoo artist, Otha King, tattooed a portrait of Charles Manson on himself following Manson's death. I really like his quote about being crazy. How, at one point, "crazy" used to mean something, but now it's just a term that gets thrown around.
But, I digress. I've been waiting for more updates on the Avelina De Moray bags, hoping for some progress. Also, got a new favorite Youtube channel lately, Matthew Santoro. He's hillarious! Alright guys, I'm off to bed I believe.
Two days off starting tomorrow. Going to force my sisters to sit down and make a gingerbread village for me. I need to get my hair cut...BAD, and then redye it.
